MEET OUR CHEF 

In 2020, Makepeace Island was thrilled to have multi award winning chef Zeb Gilbert join the team. Having held two Chefs Hats for seven consecutive years in his previous position as Executive Chef and Co-Owner of The Wasabi Group in Noosa, he brings a wealth of knowledge and skill to the table. He is skilled in multiple different cuisines and enjoys curating bespoke menus for each guests stay. His driving force has always remained the same; a focus on using and promoting local, seasonal produce. He works closely with local producers to ensure that our seasonally driven menus receive only the best the Sunshine Coast has to offer.

For many guests the Makepeace Island experience begins and ends around the table overlooking the spectacular lagoon pool and riverfront. 

There is an array of unique dining locations to be found on and off island including The Lounge, Long Bar and Poolside, natural bush locales, in-villa or perhaps a gourmet picnic at a secluded oasis on the North Shore.

At Makepeace we offer hands on cooking classes in a variety of different cuisines. Masterclasses are available with either our Executive Chef Zeb Gilbert or our Senior Pastry chef Katie Southwell. Please let us know in advance should you wish to book one of these classes during your stay. Classes are available for both children and adults.
